Child marriage in teenage is one of the most deplorable practices still present in our society . Even in the beginning of this centurary several reformist movements were taken up, notably among them, Shri Raja Mohan Roy was the pioneer in this movement. The consequence of the early marriage, widowhood and various inter-related problems were felt even in those days. after independence inspite of enacting laws to curb child marriage, the practice is still very much in existence.

Certain States like Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh , Bihar And Jharkhand are well known for active prevalence of child marriages. Yet in most of The other states even through early Child marriages are not prevalent. But mostly the Girls Are married by the age of 13-16 years. 

APPEAL TO CAMPAIGN AGAINST EARLY MARRIAGE

Early marriage is peril both to the girls as well as society. The girls are deprived of their prime childhood, education, nourishment and health. It is infact violation of all their basic rights. The society is contemplating for Their marriage for their self created social and vested interests.

We appeal to the public in general and parents of the girl children in particular not to succumb to societical pressures. They have to Think logically and more humanly. Girls are not saleable commodity nor burden to anyone. Infact we would be working against nature by imbalancing and imposing societical created structures on the fairer sex.

Let us all Join hands to Campaign and eradicate the system of early child marriage

Avoid Child Marriages and allow the girls to grow into educated , well nourished, economically independent equal citizens.
